Yes. All existing coatings must be removed prior to the application of our coatings. Most existing finishes such as blueing and Parkerizing are easily removed while chipping or peeling  Nickel, Hard Chrome and Anodizing  have to be chemically stripped at additional cost. Otherwise the existing platings can be lightly etched for adhesion and coated without any adhesion issues or stripping expense.
