Cerakote Gun Coating Adhesion Test

Adhesion testing (ASTM D3359) evaluates whether the coating adheres properly to a metal substrate. For this test, Cerakote H-146 was applied to steel panels. A crosshatch pattern was cut through the coating down to the substrate, and pressure-sensitive tape was applied over the crosshatch. The tape was then rapidly removed at an angle close to 180 degrees to assess the adhesion. Cerakote H-146 achieved a 5B Adhesion rating, the highest possible on a scale from 0B to 5B.
